English romance is defined by three sumptuous novels from the Brontë sisters. Charlotte's Jane Eyre stars Zelah Clarke (Dombey and Son) and Timothy Dalton (before he became James Bond) in the timeless story of an orphan who relies on intuition and intelligence to survive. Anne's The Tenant of Wildfell Hall tells the tale of escape from an abusive marriage that stunned Victorian society. A young Ian McShane (Lovejoy) stars in Emily's Wuthering Heights, a powerful saga of unrequited love and sibling rivalry. Fully remastered, the remarkable works of the Brontës look better than ever.

Three romantic masterpieces by the Brontë sisters come alive in this remarkable collection of BBC adaptations. These celebrated miniseries, totalling over 11 hours in all, have been fully restored and remastered for DVD and look better than ever.

Jane Eyre

Jane Eyre (Zelah Clarke) is a mistreated orphan who learns to survive by relying on her independence and intelligence. Her first job in the outside world is governess to the ward of Mr. Rochester (Timothy Dalton), a man of many secrets and mercurial moods. The tentative trust between them slowly develops into romance, but their hopes for happiness will soon be jeopardized by a terrible secret.

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall

When the beautiful widow Helen Graham (Tara Fitzgerald) moves into the derelict Wildfell Hall with her son, she arouses great curiosity from the local villagers. Gilbert Markham (Toby Stephens), a handsome young farmer, finds himself drawn to the enigmatic Helen and encourages her to open up to him. But even sympathetic Markham is unprepared for the secrets Helen will ultimately reveal.

Wuthering Heights

When the dark brooding orphan boy Heathcliff (Ian McShane) enters the Earnshaw household at Wuthering Heights, he is at first shunned by his new stepsiblings, Catherine and Hindley. Over time, Catherine and Heathcliff grow to love each other, but Hindley's rivalry with Heathcliff only deepens. When Catherine ultimately marries a neighboring landowner who can offer her social advancement, however, Heathcliff charts a course of revenge which will have tragic consequences for everyone.
